So, what can you do in your office to make your employees’ day? Let’s take a look.
Share Your Knowledge
Top of the list of things you can do is share your knowledge. Giving colleagues the heads-up can be a great way to show you care and save them from a lot of hassle (and making errors).
Sharing your knowledge could take all sorts of forms. One option is workshops and training. These sessions give colleagues the extra impetus they need at work to focus on their jobs and look forward to employment rewards in the future.
You could also share various articles and books with them. These can help them learn more about the skills they need on the job and what really works in your particular environment.
Be Respectful
It’s shocking that it even needs to be said, but being respectful is another way you can make your colleagues happy at work. Regular decency, regardless of rank goes far and is one of the main reasons many employees stick around at their preferred places of work.
Maintain A Positive Attitude
Maintaining a positive attitude can help, too. Smiling, even when things are going wrong can be contagious and brings the whole team together. It prevents negativity from seeping in, which is a risk when you allow negativity to dominate the atmosphere at work.
Make Coffee A Right
Making coffee a right (and not just something workers have to buy on their way to the office) is another thing you can do to boost morals: some commercial coffee machines bean to cup in just a few seconds, giving people a barista-like experience.
Once you make coffee a right, people will notice. They’ll see how you are prepared to take care of them and look out for their interests. Plus, they’ll be more willing to stay with you. If you offer, the next office might not.
Coffee and snacks also create a sense of surprise and delight in the office. Most workers won’t expect it. So delivering on their needs can be a great way to win them over.
Celebrate Milestones
Don’t make your colleagues work all the time. Instead, celebrate milestones with them, breaking up the working week. For example, you could take an hour off for someone’s birthday or recognize a spectacular achievement, such as finishing a major project.
When you acknowledge these milestones, you show your team that you understand the effort that went into achieving them. You’re not just taking them for granted.
Show Appreciation
Finally (and perhaps most inexpensively), show your colleagues appreciation. Thank them for the work they do and the effort they put into running the organization.
Showing appreciation is often as simple as saying thank you to someone and giving them a pat on the back. It doesn’t have to cost anything.
