It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of money we are spending on a daily basis. So many things cost so much nowadays, and we’re just expected to ride with it and pay more, even though we’re not sure why or how it got this way. Unfortunately, in some cases there isn’t much that you can do about it – if you want something bad enough, you’re just going to have to surrender and pay for what it’s worth. But that doesn’t mean that you have to take a back seat every time. There are some things that you can control, and that all depends on how hard you go looking. A lot of people know they can save their money, and yet don’t bother because they see it as too much effort and change, and they’re not willing to go that far. This is fine, but if you want to get more out of your money, and manage it in a way that means you don’t have to scrape by at the end of every month – then put in that little extra work. It’s worth it.
Here are a couple of ideas on where and how you can save.
Your mobile
We spend all day every day on our phones now, and that’s because technology is so advanced, we can find whatever we need on there and barely have to move a muscle. This comes at a cost though, and in order to have the best phone with the best features, you may be used to paying a fair bit every month. The thing is, there are so many different companies that offer you the same thing – if not more – for a cheaper price, or better benefits. Take SMARTY, for example – they give you perks if you refer a friend, and not only that, but for any data that has gone unused that month, they credit it back to you, so you really are getting every last bit out of what you pay for.
Your shopping
When you go for your weekly shopping, it can be frustrating at times because you may go in with a plan of action, and then end up buying so many products and items that you don’t need, and won’t use anyway – it’ll just waste away in your cupboard or your fridge until it goes bad and needs throwing. This is an awful waste of money and food, so try and be more productive in your planning. Write out a list of all the meals you plan on making that week, and what ingredients you’ll need. Once you have all the essentials – stick to it. No matter how many things grab your attention in the grocery store, you know what you need, and what you don’t, so don’t fall victim to those impulse buys. You’d be surprised at how much money you lose every month because of them.
Now that you have a couple of ideas, you can see that it only takes a few simple changes to cater to your suited needs.
