Unless Your Name Is Branson, These Cars Break The Bank

Have you ever asked yourself what you would buy if you had all the money in the world? It’s an interesting question but to be honest, most people have rather cliche answers. For instance, one of the common first dream purchases would be a supercar. Not just any supercar, one of the most expensive vehicles on the market. Sound good? Of course, it does, and there’s nothing wrong with having this type of fantasy. When you were little if you asked yourself that question, you would have dreamt up some form of an expensive toy. That’s exactly what a supercar is. It’s a toy that admittedly can cost up to a few million. Although, like some toys, you can only play with various supercars in certain areas. Many spend so much time on the track they might as well be life size Scalextric models. But what are some of the most expensive cars to buy if you had your hands on all the money? Let’s find out.

Bugatti Veyron

How about we start off with one that you’ve probably heard of and may have seen whizzing around on TV. It’s certainly appeared on the old Top Gear a couple of times, most notably racing fighter jet. We seem to recall it won that race too and why wouldn’t it? It’s got a top speed of 257MPH and if that’s not enough, just look at the design. It has been created in a crazy lab to resemble something between a Ferrari, a Bentley and the car that managed to break the sound barrier. It’s nothing short of awesome and today it would cost you roughly five hundred thousand. That’s about the same price as an average size family home near any major city. That’s right, you can either have this car or a place to live for your kids, it’s your choice. Of course, before you rush off to put a mortgage on your home, you may want to know that’s not the cost we’re talking about. Half a million doesn’t come close to the absolutely insane 3.4 million you’d have to pay for what is essentially the special edition. What do you get for nearly five times the cost of the original? Well, a fancy carbon fibre bodywork, an awesome interior and a collector’s edition paintwork seem to be the main features. Still, if you have the cash, why not?

Where the Bugatti Veyron is big, bulky and glued to the road, this one is sleek, smooth and slim. It has a front bonnet that looks like it could cut through anything and can reach a blistering 200mph and reach 60 in just over 3 seconds. It’s a tad more expensive than the Bugatti special edition, but that’s not why you won’t get your hands on one. The Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio is owned by six people in the world. So while it’s one of the most expensive, it’s also one of the most exclusive. You had to be invited to buy one, and this should tell you everything you need to know about the cars on this list. These are not the vehicles are driven by the one percent, they’re the ones owned by the 0.0000001 percent. If you own one of these, you won the lottery, designed Pokemon Go and were dosed with Felix Felicis. The good news is you don’t have to spend 3 million plus to get your hands on this car. By all accounts, it’s the Ferrari Spyder with a fresh bodywork. Although, you’d still need need a quarter of a million to afford one of those.

Speaking of exclusive cars, there’s only thirteen of these in the world. Only 12 of those will ever be owned privately and did we mention they cost almost 4.5 million. No biggy then, does anyone want to come and rob a bank? If we knock over about fifty, we might come close to being able to afford one. Though, you can’t deny looking at this car you’d love to get your hands on it. The carbon fibre, bodywork, the sleek, cutting-edge design. It’s all there on display…if you can afford it. If you want your blood to really start to boil, there’s one guy in the world that owns two of these cars. His name is Kris Singh, ludicrously wealthy business owner and a car fanatic. We do wonder whether he has actually ever had the bravery to drive it. After all, you can’t insure one of these using a typical site like Money Expert. You’d have to speak to a specialist insurer, and even then the price would be an eye-watering amount. Though if he’s bought two, we’re sure he can afford it.

This one isn’t even out yet and may well be off the market until early 2018. Still, once it is released, the road legal car will apparently sell for just under four million. That’s the price that comes with feeling like James Bond, we’re afraid. The car will be made of carbon fibre and have an awesome V12 engine. It is suspected that the company will try and deliver the fastest road car ever created. Although, as you can see from some of the other cars on this list, there are some big shoes to fill. Still, Aston Martin might just manage it as the car has been designed in conjunction with Red Bull Racing. If anyone can design the next fastest supercar, it’s the guys that created the one that has won the Grand Prix multiple times. That’s all we really know about the new Aston, it’s very hush hush. But we look forward to it being released and not being about to afford one next year. Never mind though because not many people will. After all, only about 150 are ever going to be on the market!

Lykan Hypersport

This is being dubbed Dubai’s first supercar, and it’s certainly going to live up to the image of the oil-rich capital. It has diamond-encrusted headlights, and that’s just the start of the ostentatious design. If you want one, you’ll need to save up 3.5 million, though the company claims it will release a budget version for half that cost. The best part about this vehicle is that the Dubai police force is reportedly getting one as a gift. This means that Dubai will have the fastest police in the world which, whatever way you cut it is rather cool.

Bugatti Chiron

Of course for a smaller cost of just 2.5 million, you can get the Bugatti Chiron. Following up where the Veyron left off this will take you to sixty in just 2 seconds, and if that’s not good enough, it’s also got a brand new engine with a sleek design. The car has a whopping 15000 horsepower and guess what? We’re not talking about a special edition here. This isn’t going to be available on the market for anyone who wants to fork out the cash and buy one. Although we doubt that means you’ll see all that many whizzing around the roads. This is still going to be a highly exclusive car purely because there aren’t that many people who can afford 2.5 million. Although we certainly dare to dream.

Do any of these cars take your fancy? Or, do you think the people that buy them have more money than sense? Who knows, there might be one lucky individual using this article as a shopping list.
